- 한·벨기에 교육·연구 협력의 장에서 교수·연구진·학생 격려
지난 18일, 막심 프레보(Maxime Prevot) 벨기에 부총리 겸 외교·유럽·개발협력 장관이 인천 송도의 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스(총장 한태준)를 방문했다.
이번 방문은 양국의 학술·인적 교류 성과를 확인하고 향후 협력 방향을 논의하기 위한 자리로 마련되었다. 이 자리에서 프레보 장관은 글로벌 인재 양성을 위해 노력하고 있는 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스의 교수·연구진·학생 등 구성원들을 격려했다.
한태준 총장은 “한·벨기에 교육·연구 협력의 상징인 우리 캠퍼스에 방문한 프레보 장관을 진심으로 환영한다”며 “이번 방문이 양국 파트너십을 한층 더 공고히 하는 계기가 되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스(Ghent University Global Campus)는 생명과학 및 바이오 분야에서 세계 30위권의 경쟁력을 갖춘 벨기에 겐트대학교의 인천 송도 소재 확장캠퍼스다. 지난 2014년 개교한 캠퍼스는 'Dare to Think'라는 슬로건 아래 글로벌 인재 육성에 힘쓰고 있다. //끝//

Encourages professors, researchers, and students at the venue of Korea–Belgium education and research cooperation
On the 18th, Maxime Prévot, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of Belgium, visited Ghent University Global Campus (Taejun Han, Prof. Dr. Campus President) in Songdo, Incheon.
The visit was arranged to review the achievements of academic and human exchange between the two countries and to discuss future directions of cooperation. On this occasion, Minister Prévot encouraged professors, researchers, and students of Ghent University Global Campus who are committed to nurturing global talent.
Taejun Han, Prof. Dr. Campus President said, “I sincerely welcome Minister Prévot to our campus, which stands as a symbol of Korea–Belgium education and research cooperation. I expect that this visit will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the partnership between our two countries.”
Ghent University Global Campus (GUGC), located in Songdo, Incheon, is an extension campus of Ghent University in Belgium, which ranks within the world’s top 30 in life sciences and biotechnology.
