2024학년도 봄학기 신입생 오리엔테이션 개최
교학처는 지난 2월 22일(목) 인천 송도 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 대강당에서 2024학년도 봄학기 신입생을 위한 오리엔테이션을 성황리에 개최했다고 전했다. 올해 신입생 수는 약 200여명이며, 당초 예상했던 3월 학기 신입생 수 180명을 웃도는 수치를 기록했다. 이번 행사는 ▲겐트대학교 교육 프로그램 소개 ▲1학년 생활 전반에 대한 소개 ▲학업 지원을 위한 1:1 개별상담, 튜터링 프로그램, LLC 프로그램 소개 ▲GUGC 캠퍼스 라이프 소개 순으로 진행되었다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 교학처 유지영 처장은 “유럽 명문대 겐트대학교에 입학하게 된 것을 축하한다”며 “앞으로 여러분들은 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스가 제공하는 교육 프로그램을 기반으로 생명공학 전문가로 성장하게 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
입학설명회에 참여한 장서희 학생은 “겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스의 교육 프로그램이 엄격하기로 알려져서 입학 전 방학 때 1학년 때 들을 과목 선행에 집중했다”며 “이번 오리엔테이션을 통해 학교생활에 전반에 대해 알 수 있어서 유익했다.”고 전했다.
한편 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스는 1년에 225명의 신입생을 3월 학기와 9월 학기로 나눠서 모집하고 있다. 또한 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스의 우수한 커리큘럼, 졸업생 진로 진학 결과를 바탕으로 매년 신입생이 증가하고 있으며, 올해는 약 200명의 학생이 입학할 예정이다.
Freshman Orientation for Spring 2024 Semester Hosted
The Office of Academic Affairs announced that the Spring 2024 Freshman Orientation was successfully held on February 22 (Thursday) at the Ghent University Global Campus in Songdo, Incheon. The number of incoming students this year is approximately 200, exceeding the initially expected number of 180 students for the upcoming March semester. The event consisted of ▲ an introduction to Ghent University's educational programs ▲ introduction to freshman year life in general ▲ introduction to 1:1 individual counseling, tutoring program, and LLC program for academic support ▲ introduction to GUGC campus life.
"Congratulations on your admission to Ghent University, a prestigious European university," said Jiyoung Yoo, Dean of Academic Affairs at Ghent University Global Campus. "In the future, you will become a biotechnology professional with the educational programs offered by Ghent University Global Campus."
"Ghent University Global Campus is known for its rigorous educational programs, so I focused on preparing for my freshman year courses during my vacation before enrollment," said Seohee Jang, a student who attended the orientation. "It was useful to get an overview of school life through this orientation."
Meanwhile, Ghent University Global Campus admits 225 new students a year in two semesters, the March semester and the September semester. The number of incoming students is increasing every year due to Ghent University Global Campus' outstanding curriculum and graduate career outcomes, and this year's admissions are expected to be around 200 students.
