K-SDGs청소년 포럼 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스에서 성황리에 진행
지난 8일, 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스에서 ‘포스트-SDGs 시대, 청소년이 여는 지속가능발전 글로벌 어젠다’를 주제로 ‘2025 K-SDGs 청소년 포럼’이 열렸다.
이번 포럼은 UN의 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)를 기반으로 한 영어 스피킹 프로그램의 일환으로, 청소년들에게 글로벌 시민으로서의 역량을 함양하고 영어 의사소통 능력을 강화할 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 포럼에는 도성훈 인천시 교육감, 학생, 교사, 학부모, 시민 등 250여 명이 참석했으며, 학생들은 직접 제작한 자료로 연구 결과를 공유했다.
또한, 지난 7개월간 대학생 멘토와 중·고등학생 멘티가 함께 연구한 △SDG 3(건강과 웰빙) △SDG 5(성평등) △SDG 8(양질의 일자리와 경제 성장) △SDG 14(해양생태계 보전) 등을 주제로 열띤 발표와 토론이 진행됐다.
특히 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스는 행사 개최를 위한 지원뿐만 아니라 재학생들이 중·고등학생을 위한 멘토로 활약하면서 성공적인 행사를 뒷받침했다.
한태준 총장은 환영사를 통해 “이번 행사는 청소년들이 영어로 세계의 현안을 탐구하고 토론하며 글로벌 시민으로 성장할 수 있는 소중한 교육의 장”이라며 “앞으로도 지역사회 발전과 미래 인재 육성에 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스가 함께 하겠다”고 말했다.

K-SDGs Youth Forum Successfully Held at Ghent University Global Campus
On November 8, the 2025 K-SDGs Youth Forum was successfully held at Ghent University Global Campus (GUGC) under the theme “Post-SDGs Era: Global Agenda for Sustainable Development Led by Youth.”
The forum was organized as part of an English-speaking program based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to enhance participants’ global citizenship and strengthen their English communication skills.
The event was attended by Mr. Seonghoon Do, Superintendent of the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, along with more than 250 participants, including students, teachers, parents, and local citizens. Students shared the results of their research through self-prepared presentations and materials.
Over the past seven months, university mentors and middle and high school mentees collaborated on research projects addressing topics such as SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 14 (Life Below Water). The forum featured passionate presentations and discussions on each theme.
In addition to hosting the event, GUGC provided substantial support, with its university students actively participating as mentors to younger students, contributing to the success of the program.
Prof. Dr. Taejun Han, Campus President said, “This forum provides a meaningful educational opportunity for young people to explore and discuss global issues in English while growing as global citizens. Ghent University Global Campus will continue to contribute to regional development and the cultivation of future talents.”
