겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스, 2024학년도 봄학기 10주년 신입생 입학식 개최
인천 송도에 위치한 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스는 지난 2월 23일(금) 인천글로벌캠퍼스(IGC) 대강당에서 2024학년도 봄학기 10주년 신입생 입학식을 개최했다.
이번 행사에는 주한 벨기에 대사 프랑수아 봉탕, 한국유미코아촉매 한종석 대표이사, IGC 운영재단 박병근 대표이사, 싸토리우스 강수형 부회장, 신입생 배출 고등학교 교장을 포함하여 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 교원과 신입생, 학부모, 재학생 400여명이 참석했다.
2024학년도 봄학기 신입생으로 입학한 장서희 학생은“긴 수험생활을 끝으로 겐트대학교에 입학하게 되어 기쁘다”며 “생명공학 분야 세계 최정상 대학인 겐트대학교에서 연구원이라는 꿈을 펼치고 싶다”라고 전했다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 한태준 총장은 환영사에서 “이번 2024학년도 봄학기 신입생 모집정원의 100%를 충원했으며, 누적 평균 취업률 94.2% 등 우수한 진로 진학 결과를 바탕으로 매년 겐트대학교 입학 경쟁이 치열해지고 있다”며, “여러분들이 꿈을 이룰 수 있도록 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스는 학생에 대한 지원을 아끼지 않겠다.”라고 말했다.
겐트대학교는 1817년 벨기에 겐트시에 설립된 유럽 명문 종합대학 연구기관으로 세계적 수준의 생명공학과 농업 관련 기술을 보유하고 있다. 국내에는 2014년 9월 산업통상자원부와 인천시 공동프로젝트를 통해 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스를 개교했으며, 분자생명·식품·환경공학 분야에서 세계적 수준의 연구력과 국제적인 네트워크를 갖추고 있다. 한편 2024년도 가을학기 신입생 모집은 2024년 3월 1일부터 개시되며, 자세한 정보는 겐트대학교 입학홈페이지(admissions.ghent.ac.kr)를 통해 확인할 수 있다.
‘Ghent University Global campus holds the 10th entrance ceremony for 2024’
On February 23rd(Fri.) the Ghent University Global campus in Songdo, Incheon held the 10th entrance ceremony for 2024 at the IGC hall.
For the following ceremony, a total of 400 freshmen, parents, staff members, other students and other visitors such as current Belgian ambassador Francois Bontemps, Umicore Ltd. CEO Jongseok Han, Director of IGC foundation Byeonggeun Park, Vice president of Satorius firm Seuhyeong Kang, Principal of highschool from which new freshmen have graduated, have participated.
Seohye Jang, a freshmen for the new 2024 spring semester stated “I am so glad to have entered Ghent University after my long years of preparing in highschool, and one day, I would like to fulfil my dream of becoming a researcher in Ghent University, an university with no rivals on the Biological engineering sector.”
Taejun Han, the Campus President of Ghent University Global Campus stated in his speech of welcome “For the spring semester of 2024, our university’s recruitment quota of students have been fulfilled by 100% and competition for entrance to Ghent University is becoming more heated due to favorable results such as student career, attendance, etc.” And “In order to assist our students fulfil their dreams, Ghent University global campus will provide the students with everything we have.
Ghent University is a prestigious European university founded by the city of Ghent, Belgium in 1817 and is known for its advanced technology regarding biological engineering and farming. In Korea, under the collaboration of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the city of Incheon, the Ghent University Global campus was founded, and owns the state of the art research facilities and national networks on molecular biology·food·Environmental engineering.
